In August last year Greg Fallon's wife Meralin was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, which unfortunately is an incurable version of the disease. She has gone from a very active and energetic person who now only functions at about 20% of what would be condidered normal for her.
This is it for her and she will never improve from this level of well being. We are being very positive about the future and live our lives day by day enjoying each moment we have together and making plans for the future together however long that may be.
Greg decided this year to enter the "Worlds Greatest Shave" and try and raise funds for further reseach into Leukemia (hoping that this may lead to a cure for Meralin). She has a daily regimen of drugs that she must take daily and although these slow the rate of the disease can't cure it. The side effcets are also terribly debilitating and sometimes we feel that they are worse than the disease.
This year in Greg's first attempt to raise money for the Leukemia Research he has raised so far $1,672.00 and is still looking for more.
